I wonder how many people would say this is one of their favourite Carols? With lyrics like “King and God and Sacrifice”, it is in the Top 10 for me. However, I have to admit I didn’t like singing this carol when I was younger… the chorus after every verse made it tedious, so when I heard this version where the verses of the gifts are sung consecutively, it was a winner! Taken from my favourite Christmas album – Bethlehem’s Treasure. The arrangements, musicianship and song choice on this recording are top-notch! And with the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction taking place for the first time in 400 hundred years, this song is very topical! (We like being topical on this channel).
